2001年，北京景山学校举办国际中学生排球邀请赛。
　　中国奥委会名誉主席，何振梁（前排左二）用中、英、法三国语方发表讲话，欢迎各国中学生“七年之后，以运动员，志愿者、记者、官员观众的身份来北京参加2008年第29届奥运会”。全国政协副主席孙孚凌宣布比赛开始。美国、法国、日本、泰国和中国球队进行为期5天的比赛。期间，召开体育工作交流会。5国的运动员兴致勃勃地游览了长城、故宫、天坛等名胜古迹。

　　（JIngshan School hosted the International Invitational Volleyball Tournament for Middle School Students in 2001.He Zhenlinag,Honorary Chairman of Chinese Olympic Committee,gave a speech in Chinese, English and French at the opening ceremony .He welcomed the players to come to the Beijing 2008Olympic Games in seven years as athletes, volunteers, journalists,officers or spectators. Sun Fuling,vice-president of CCPCC announced the beginning of the first match,During the five days, Volleyball teams from the US,France, Japan, Thailand and China played matches, held conferences on PE education and travelled to theh Great Wall,the Palace Museum and the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. ）
